It has been informed that in Australia after every two hours a patient succumbs to death because of Leukemia. Leukemia is a blood cancer which is hard to cure. People are being urged to take part in the Leukemia Foundation so that funds could be raised for further research in the field.
The CEO of Leukemia Foundation of Australia, Peter Cox said, "The Leukemia Foundations World's Greatest Shave is one of Australia's biggest fundraising events. Money raised funds free services to support patients and families living with blood cancers. It also funds blood cancer research to improve treatments and find cures".
This year, the Foundation is aiming at raising $280,000. Both men and women have showed their excitement in getting their heads shaved. Thousands of the people would be seen taking part in the event.
The Leukemia Foundation has already raised $1400. Five more days are left for the event. People are being encouraged to get their heads shaved to show support for the patients suffering with leukemia. Besides getting heads shaved, people can also color their hair and express their support for the Foundation.
The Leukemia Foundation provides aid to various cancer charities and especially for the leukemia research. All those who are willing to help cancer patients can make either donation or shave their heads to show support.
