The spa was created by Deborah Szekely in 1958, and the brand has since expanded to include similar retreats in Utah, Florida, Arizona and Puerto Rico. Surrounded by soothing nature and Asian-inspired gardens with koi ponds, guests embark on a week-long journey in health, fitness, wellness and self-discovery. Located on 200 private acres in a secluded valley 40-miles north of San Diego, Cal-a-Vie is a hidden treasure that provides the ultimate health spa getaway experience. Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico

Located on 3,000 acres in Tecate, people from all over the world seek refuge in Rancho La Puerta to heal and empower the mind, body and spirit through wellness spa treatments, energizing activities, and natural, nutritious cuisine in a tranquil setting of gardens, meadows, and 25 miles of mountainside hiking trails. Results-oriented recommendations include Cardio Boxing with focus mitts and boxing gloves; Circuit Training with balance, strength, and coordination workouts; Yoga Sculpt with dumbbells and yoga postures; and Alex?s Oak Trail, a two-mile hike climbing 350 feet in elevation.
