ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) ? One of Atlantic City?s 12 casinos could soon have a new owner.
You?ve probably never heard of the Rational Group, but ?Poker Stars? might ring a bell. The operator of that and other online gaming sites now has an agreement to purchase the Atlantic Club casino-hotel, the former Hilton on the south end of the boardwalk.
Terms are not being revealed, but current management would be kept in place, according to a statement from the Texas-based company.
The sale is contingent on approval by state regulators.
What is key here is the fact that New Jersey could soon allow Internet gambling through servers based at the casinos.? A bill to do just that is on Governor Christie?s desk, although he did veto an earlier version.
