Come Tour Stella McCartney's Very Empty London House - Curbed

Tuesday, October 2, 2012, by Sarah Firshein

Has the edgy Brit fashion designer Stella McCartney found a buyer for her four-story London townhouse? The Real Estalker thinks yes: the 1,980-square-foot home, which McCartney bought in 2007 with her husband, Wallpaper* magazine co-founder Alasdhair Willis, seems to be in escrow. Originally listed for ?3M, the Notting Hill mansion had recently been PriceChopped to ?2.5M, or just over $4M.

The listing photos are disappointingly empty, so one can't say for certain whether the place did McCartney's fellow fashion designers with beautiful homes proud, but one can glimpse the potential anyway. There are good-looking hardware floors (some weathered, some new-looking), two fireplaces, a galley kitchen with butcher-block counters and Shaker-style cabinetry, modern shelving, ample built-ins, French doors leading out to the back patio, and a small glassed-in roof deck accessible from the master suite. Of course, there's an errant antique claw-foot bathtub hanging out in the middle of a non-bathroom, but perhaps that's just another reinterpretation of the term "en suite." Here's the floorplan:
